Historique :	Cet élément sculpté, tout comme trois autres éléments sculptés acquis par l’État en 2024, en faveur de la cathédrale de Châlons-en-Champagne (PM51009220, PM51009222, PM51009223), proviennent de l’abbaye cistercienne de Bonnefontaine à Blanchefosse-et-Bay (08), dont les restes ont été inscrits au titre des monuments historiques en 1926 (PA00078348).

Observations :	En instance de classement, par décision du 29/10/2024, ces sculptures présentant un intérêt patrimonial majeur du point de vue de l’art et de l’architecture et constituant, par leur authenticité, leur rareté et leur lien intrinsèque avec l’ancienne abbaye cistercienne de Bonnefontaine, un jalon essentiel de l’histoire des abbaye en Champagne-Ardenne.
